Numerical Algorithms Group

Project Goals

An outgrowth of a project among Oxford and several other UK universities, the Numerical Algorithms Group is comprised of many of the world's top numerical analysts, computer scientists, statisticians and high-performance computing experts who are dedicated to bringing fast, accurate and robust computational methods to bear on the world of technical computing. Formally a not-for-profit organization in the United Kingdom, the Numerical Algorithms Group operates through for-profit organizations in North America and Japan. The PR challenge is to help create awareness of the math and statistical prowess of the Numerical Algorithms Group with editors and other influence makers both to attract potential customers and collaborative partners.

Campaign Highlights

Testimonial

"Numerical Algorithms Group has had a close and very successful relationship with ALM Communications for nearly eight years. Along the way we have learned a great deal about how to increase market awareness of a small company among its prospects in a niche market. We are extremely grateful to Amy and colleagues for their professional efforts on our behalf.

Prior to our use of ALM, NAG attempted to use internal staff to produce press releases and have them picked up by various publications. In terms and both time expended and results achieved this strategy was expensive and marginally effective. With ALM's help we have developed an integrated marketing program with published articles, press releases and news stories to complement our display advertising, web site, collateral, and trade show presence. The net effect is that ALM helps us make the "news" that publishers want. This has added significantly to our visibility and credibility. We have always had the ideas and potential. ALM has drawn them out and ensured the placements. Together, we make a great team.

When we originally entered into this relationship years ago, we had many questions and concerns: Would we get the promised results? How would communications work with someone outside our firm? How would they deal with the inevitable changes in priorities? Our experience has been very positive on all of these points with ALM. They meet their commitments, are adaptable to our changing needs and, though we are only separated by 30 miles, we get our joint work done in regular phone meetings, by e-mail, and with the occasional face to face visit.

ALM has invested in learning about our company, markets, and the related publications. The combination of their professional skills and investment in learning what makes us "tick" has achieved results that we could not have obtained on our own. Perhaps the best measure of the trust we have in ALM is that we recommend them to our partners and friends in related businesses."
